Fred Cline, of US Italian heritage, is a winemaker in thrall to the fabulous varieties of the Rhône, having seen the potential of these grapes in his native California. Cline Cellars were established in 1982, initially in Oakley, Costa Contra County, but since 2000 have been based in Carneros in the largest solar powered winery in California. Jasmine and honeysuckle are the abundant aromas, while the palate is pure tinned peaches and cream.
