Castel Serranova Susumaniello Rosé, 2024, Salento
£15.00
Susumaniello - a red grape variety supposedly named for its bunches’ resemblance to a heavy-laden donkey - has only recently returned to favour, but from its ability to create deep, violet and peppery reds and characterful, fruity rosés such as this, it is difficult to know why it was ever abandoned. This black fruit-laden rosé comes from the small Serranova estate in Puglia, Italy and provides supple but persistent blackberry flavours with an ever so slightly off-dry finish.
