Henschke ‘Johann’s Garden’ Grenache, Shiraz, Mataro Blend, 2018, Barossa Valley

The name of this magnificent GSM blend is in tribute to the vineyard’s founder, Johann Christian Henschke. Many of you will know, the name is incredibly special to us too. Already long fans of Henschke wines (including one named for a Henry), this one really sang to us. Five generations on, Henschke is one of the great names in Australian winemaking. A stylish Barossa Grenache led-blend comprising appealing notes of redcurrant, raspberry and baked fruit pudding gives way to a palate bursting with red liquorice, spices and dark fruit compote. Finely balanced, with a velvety finish this really is a cuddly bear of a wine. 🐻
