Allegrini, 'La Grola', 2020, Veronese IGT

‘La Grola’ is a thirty hectare vineyard that has been producing grapes for the Allegrini family’s fabulous wines for nearly forty years. Corvina is blended with Oseleta, yet the Corvinone varietal doesn’t feature here so, subsequently, the wine cannot call itself a Valpolicella, thus it is labelled as Veronese IGT instead. All the hallmarks of Valpolicella and Amarone are here though - a full bodied, elegant red brimming with black fruit, spice, tobacco and an indulgent, long finish.
